The second ‘Catalysis Connected’ conference was held in Veldhoven in 2022.
From 15-16 September 2022, the second edition of Catalysis Connected took place. We organized this event together with our partners the Netherlands Center for Multiscale Catalytic Energy Conversion (MCEC), the European Federation of Catalysis Societies (EFCats), the Centre for Advanced Process Technology for Urban REsource recovery (CAPTURE) and the Advanced Research Center Chemical Building Blocks Consortium (ARC CBBC).

Scope and structure
Our world is changing rapidly, and the scientific community is tasked with addressing some of today’s greatest challenges. Catalysis offers powerful solutions by enabling the conversion of substances like CO₂, municipal waste, and agricultural by-products into valuable chemical building blocks and materials for a more sustainable society.
In 2022, we invited aspiring researchers in the field of catalysis to share their insights and research under the theme: “How to use the waste of today as our materials and energy of tomorrow.” The discussions focused on:
- Plastic recycling
- CO₂ capture and utilization
- Biomass conversion
- Metal recovery
